Starbuck'd Trend

As soon as I left last weeks class I'm not going to lie, I went to Starbucks even after the discussions we had about the Conan O'Brien quote and the price being ridiculous.

Upon arriving I was greeted by a middle-aged homosexual man ("not that there's anything wrong with that" ...Seinfeld), who had beside him a girl in her late teens that had so many facial piercings that I swear they were all connected at one point or another. (But to each their own. Though I definitely think some of those holes are permanent.) I proceeded to place my delicious banana bread on the ledge with the high-stools overlooking the downtown traffic. I had a few minutes to kill before my late bus was set to arrive. When I walked over though, I noticed a woman of no implication sitting idly by on a powder-green love seat, holding in plain sight an enormously turquoise flower and white book. She intently gazed up at me as I unknowingly walked to the counter. I in turn looked away as I sat and pondered what was actually going through her mind. I came to the conclusion that many of you have already come to. She was probably a book-loving, flower-smelling hippie that got hooked on cafe mocha's... or... maybe in real life she may have been meeting someone there for a first date and the flower and book being the signal for the cunning stranger she was to meet and also to know for sure who she was.

At first I thought. No, no, no those types of things only happen in the movies. But as I tilted my head back furrowing a brow I wondered and came to the conclusion that most movies are based on reality just look at '40yr old virgin' you know that's a true story..... (Just kidding)

Once I was past the woman burning a hole in the back of my head with her glaring pupils, I started to eat my banana-loaf then realizing that there was a blurb on the paper bag which read as such... "flavours my senses. Sweetens my disposition, stirs my imagination...nourishes my dreams.

At first glance I thought, seriously? If it does all that, I think it should cost much more than the buck-95 I put in the hand of Mr. Nothing wrong with that.

But once I took a second I was thinking about all the easily mach-able material. Conan went for the overdone and obvious remarks when concerning Starbucks and I didn't want to do that but I couldn't help myself.

After reading it a second time I inconceivably agreed with it. (What no cheap shots?)

1-Flavours my senses..........Well the banana bread did leave a good taste in my mouth.

2-Sweetens my disposition..........I am pretty content as of now.

3-Stirs my imagination......It did cause me to get the idea and tie it into my writing classes discussion.

4-Nourishes my dreams...Now there is one that doesn't apply, aha!..... Aah dammit! It only really helps my career and dream as a writer if I am inspired to write.

So in the end I am no longer embarrassed to say that ->Starbucks the evil 'New World Order' empire it may be, that it is worth the cost, if only for this brief moment.
