State of Play

I was told going in that this movie will reward you if you pay attention throughout. But coincidentally this had no barring on, if you wanted to keep up with the story as they would help you along from most sides at different points. So there is no need to keep your eyes unblinking as this screen gem is a simple tale of an all to real situation.

Ben Affleck plays perfect, cast as a stone faced congressman. Russell Crowe is a buy-able reporter with no regard or consequence for the law. Rachal McAdams is quaint in a subdued role.
This movie builds up the big bad new owners of the Washington Globe. Only to have it end without a blip of an encounter. (Perhaps we'll see the deleted scenes on the Blu-ray release.)
I did expect more, but was satisfied enough to recommend that anyone see it if you are interested in any of the topics discussed, albeit Newspapers, Writers, Politics and who-done-it stories.
