I have seen that jobs that are basically royalty or adsense based are more widely available for new writers. I have been a paid forum poster for a while and yes, it isn't a lot of cash but I learn a lot from forums I write for so it is an adequate trade off at this point. But writing for sites like Helium leave the account low and work load high to expect any profits if worthy. So I have continued with these pennies for work sites as much time as I can spare which may be an article or two a week.
I am also currently working for Suite 101, How to do things and Triond which differ in some ways but do not offer great financial upheavals at all. So I have continued sending off queries to interesting opportunities. To see what may come up.
I have actually written two pieces for a site called Sox Nest which haven't been published but will be shortly as I have received amazing feedback for the items submitted. Also I will be finally paid for each item like I intended when I started applying for jobs.
Although I am pleased with what I have accomplished in my short time as a Freelance Writer (jan.1st -> 07) I am still hoping to receive more steady and ongoing positions that will pay on project basis. I have noticed that if anyone specializes in the financial fields that they're tons of available positions, which makes me want to research that area in the future.
So all those new writers out there, pay your dues, work hard and you'll get the jobs you aspire to receive. That is what I have learned thus far. Any questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

Spring in my step
It seems to me that this time of year makes me feel like I should rise up from my current hibernation and get outside more. But I still see snow, I know it's spring training for my beloved Jays but they are in Dunedin not T.O. and the NHL & NBA are over the halfway points and in Vegas for the all-star festivities meaning spring cometh soon.
Having this head cold I seem to not be able to get rid of, has actually catapulted my writing career into paying markets. Though being home has hurt my creative writing it has pushed my non-fiction projects to the forefront. Just this week I have started two new positions in the area of open topics and one specialty site.
I will get there, I just need to see some green on the ground. I don't care what the groundhog said or saw.

Pay It Forward Tuesday!
For all of 2007 I have been hitting up the FWJ site and thanks to Deborah Ng's great ideas/links I have become one of those writers who has went straight to my inbox mornings and seen an extreme rise in people wanting my writing services after I queried them.
So I started a blog, most writers have their own blogs to write what they want when they want it written. This blog is kind of a labour of love in the mindset of a new writer taking the bumps and who keeps on going because I have found my passion and am smart enough to know that I will keep learning until the day I die.
The whole point of Paying it Forward is to keep it going and to support other writers.
I would like you all to visit a fellow Canadian writer, who is in the start of her career aswell. She provides interesting posts and some nice insights in her blog.

After I had my blog plugged on Deb's site I decided to move my blog to this one from the previous site to make it more creatively pleasing and stop giving me technical headaches. Before I ask for a shoutout agian I will update this site to a more helpful and complete state out of its infancy to prosper.

Wow! So this is blogging (part II)
In my short time blogging for shoutpost. One after another things just kept getting messed up. If it wasn't the adsense it was my blogroll, disappearing blog posts and just seemed to not have the tools at my disposal like blogger. So I decided to switch it was a hard decision but the only reason that I wanted to stay was for the community of people. As a smaller community I definitely had instant feedback from readers so I am hoping my leaving wont be construed as something that its not.
I am a new writer going through the paces. Feel free to contact me for any additional info for potential writers, employers and just anyone who would like to chat.
I will continue to update this blog as I go when possible and especially when I have something to say. I seem to be on the right path though building up some paying markets to setup a foundation for myself to have more time to work on my creative writing.
So support a starving artist by checking out my work and leaving constructive criticism or thumbs up for good ideas. I will become a constant contributor to the online writing community so hope to see and hear from you all.

Wow! So this is blogging.
I guess the biggest reasons why I started blogging were to have no restrictions, guidelines or word counts on my writing. So I can be free to say what I want. I would hope this would make me a better writer and free to just type. Even though I have the philosophy of just write it out from your heart and rewrite from your head.
This also could be a way to make money on casual work so I can focus the bulk of my time on projects that may bring me to higher paying markets while making myself a better writer.
I feel truly blessed to have found my passion even though I have wanted this for a while, ever since new year's I have been on a tear and it doesn't seem to stop. So here is my words for the aspiring "Find your passion, pursue it, live it."
