This is and was a posting created for a former blog/site that I felt should be shared.
The London Knights have been on a winning streak of seven and are in Windsor tonight versus the Spitfires. Jason Guy starts for London in net facing Andrew Engelage and here we go a fight to start this one Jordan Shine goes toe to toe with Richard Greenop. Just over one minute into the game and this battle is not finished with Shine and Windsor.
London has put Akim Aliu back up front and will benefit from having another power forward in the lineup. The Knights seem to be pressuring a lot better tonight and continue to take it to the spits early and often with a few scoring chances.
PENALTY! on London, Roughing is called against the home grown # 15 Matt Clarke who has done a solid job as a converted defenceman. Windsor pressures the zone and gets numerous scoring chances and they SCORE! Waved off by the referee as Guy had covered it for London and the whistle had gone. Windsor not making a fuss though. # 4 Taylor Hall makes an unbelievable toe-drag move and fires it wide on Guy, wow London was lucky that time. Penalty really got Windsor into the game as London ices the puck to catch their breath.
Jadran Beljo is not in the lineup tonight, which he will be missed. Akim Aliu gets close and SCORES! His 20th on the season as he shoots into an empty net as Engelage left the side unprotected 1-0 Knights!
Adam Henrique has SCORED! 1-1 as Windsor ties it on his 15th this year. London better tighten things up on D, if they want to salvage a win tonight at the barn in Windsor. Aliu with a penalty for, I am guessing pure intimidation, nevertheless 2 mins for # 78.
High-sticking on Windsor hitting # 25 Roth in the visor with his stick two minutes and with three minutes left, we should see if London can get back on track.
Blast from the point saved, Bailey clears for Windsor, Aliu brings it up with a boo from the crowd as he has played for Windsor before and the fans seem to remember. McRae # 90 for London gets a PENALTY for high-sticking, which should have been roughing. PP for Spits as they get their 11th shot this period.
One player of note in this game has been Bradley Snetsinger who has played well for Windsor thus far. So after the first period the Knights 1-1 with the Spitfires, second period to come.
_____________________________
The Second has started and up and down for the most part. But wait a turnover at the blueline and Phil Varone # 71 takes it on the break and the defence catches up and takes the shot away but he drops it back to Justin Taylor # 93 for the wide open goal Taylor's 22nd, 2-1 London after less than a minute played in the second.
A huge second attempt from the top slot as Roth whinds up and launches one and it was tipped or deflected into the net 3-1? But they are reviewing it, Aliu didn't tip it with his stick so it should be allowed, on further replay you can see the defence for Windsor deflect it at the point, resulting in an awkward flow to the high shot that ends up over the shoulder of Engelage. The word comes down and the goal counts 3-1.
Greenop instigated a fight 'Round Two' with Jordan Shine and # 29 in Shine doesn't bite and gets # 22 in the box. That is so bad, but kinda funny as buddy dropped his gloves and tries to get at Shine and Jordan just lets the ref get in between them. Nothing doing thus far in the second as the capacity crowd soaks in the action. London gets a PENALTY for, you guessed it. High-sticking, another powerplay for Windsor and they get the puck around the net Guy scrambles and as they break out and Snetsinger takes out Varone who doesn't get up, it did look like a good hit, but the penalty is for two minutes. So 4on4 hockey, London stretches the ice making almost three line passes with no connections yet though.
2on1 for Windsor broken up by Def, Knights counter but Maroon can't get a shot through. London keeps it in as Spitfires D needs a change and Engelage makes a dynamite save.
Knights penalty coming up for Shine's retaliation on being taken out. But Windsor comes back 6on5 jamming away in front of the net, but cannot solve guy. Turnovers for Spits on this PP as the time wastes and ticks off the clock.
Windsor is getting closer to scoring as the PK line for LDN gets off and Spitfires...awww! They leave it sitting on the doorstep, unlucky that time as the game remains 3-1 LDN.
Engelage has played well and has shown size does matter in the net as kneeling down he can easily cover the goal.
A FIGHT! Mickey Renaud team captain puts a beating on Justin Taylor London's own. One thing I do not like is fighter's take their helmets off and go, others do not. To fight is not to be protected by a visor, so please for the sake of your hands, please can we make this a standard. Taylor's face will feel much better though as he took a lot of shots in this one.
Guy tonight has not given very much if any rebounds as was a staple of former goalie in Steve Mason, who is now playing for the Kitchener Rangers.
An out of town update 4-0 Plymouth over the Soo deep into the second period. Helping Windsor out tonight.
As that does it for the 2nd, 3-1 Knights to start the third.

Aaaannnnddd we're back!
The Windsor announcers are miffed at the fact of overager # 12 Sean O'Connor is playing defence rather than his career centre position. They do not realize, I guess that London has been swapping forwards for their poorish defensive squad all season albeit Aliu, Clarke, O'Connor and Wilkins.
Knights fourth powerplay comes as Joshua Bailey goes to the box, stopping a scoring chance. A jump(puck) and Spits knock down a Knight on a 50/50 call. 5on3 now...Varone centers it but no shot comes. Roth has a laser of a shot but it goes wide. The penalties are over as both teams change.
Scoring chances coming in bunches for Windsor, no goals yet, 3-1 10-plus mins left. The Knights bury another one 4-1 Akim Aliu scores his second infront of the net as he gets his 21st and I think his talents are severely needed at forward for the remainder of the season.
Varone clears but to high, delay of game two minutes. If the Fires want into this game they've got to do it now. Guy saves a good chance, but London's shotblocking is second to none. But to much pressure causes a shot from Taylor Hall @ 11:36 gone in the period, his 27th. 4-2 now as Windsor brings new life to the barn.
OH! Off the post as Windsor desperately try to get back into this one. A massive blast off the post bounces into the stands. The action has exploded in the third as the shots come quickly and often. The boo's seem to give Aliu some good mojo as he thrives on the ice tonight. For a big guy, Akim gets taken off his feet quite a bit.
Just over two minutes left the fans are beginning to file out, though the game in the end looks to be very interesting. Anything can happen, that is why I cannot understand fans like these. You can watch 59 minutes of action and miss the best minute of the game, am I alone in this?
Whoa, great save by Guy under a minute to play in the period. As these teams have combined for 60-plus shots tonight. After, if the Knights go on to win the Knights are within one point of Windsor with two games in hand, meaning the Knights have played two fewer games. London has truly silenced critics who have doubted this team after the Mason deal.
LONDON KNIGHTS WIN 4-2 to get their 30th win on this two-thirds gone season.
1st *Akim Aliu LDN 2G-1A-Plus 3-2 pim
2nd*Adam Henrique WSR 1Goal
3rd*Jason Guy LDN 30 Saves-2 GA
Although the three stars, serves no importance to myself. I will list them on gameday postings as my family finds it very integral. (You know who you are.)
London won this one by blocking the best scoring chances by the Spitfires as they did end up with a good bunch of scoring chances. Spitfires play tomorrow against the Soo @ 2pm ET and London plays @ 7ish pm @ Barrie. Thanks and hope to hear from y'all.
